The invention relates to a method and a device for inserting a flat object (16) into a folded planar product (4) that includes two product parts (10, 10b) connected to one another by means of a folded edge (11). The planar product (4) is introduced, by its folded edge (11), into the pocket (1) of an insertion device, said pocket (1) having two opposite pocket sides (2, 3). A first product part (10a) is retained on a first pocket side (2) by means of a retaining mechanism (8), and the second product part (10b) is moved towards the second pocket side (3) so that the product (4) is opened. |
