PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film roll of a PVA film having excellent process passableness and capable of reducing the loss of film and working time in switching the film roll and to provide a package thereof.SOLUTION: In a film roll obtained by winding PVA film on a core tube, any of the degree of swelling in the middle part of the outermost surface of the film roll in the PVA film width direction and the degree of swelling in the middle part of a layer in contact with the core tube in the PVA film width direction is 70-96% to the degree of swelling in the middle part of the center part of the diameter direction in the PVA film width direction and the water content of the whole of the PVA film is 4-12 mass%. A package is formed by wrapping the film roll with a moisture proof film.
