PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which increases developer collection efficiency from a developer carrier without deteriorating the quality of image formation.SOLUTION: The present invention is related to an image forming apparatus which executes image formation on a recording medium using a developing device. The developing device of the present invention comprises: an electrostatic latent image carrier which carries an electrostatic latent image; a developer carrier which carries a developer on the surface thereof, and develops the electrostatic latent image by attaching the carried developer to the electrostatic latent image carrier; and a collection member which contacts with the developer carrier and collects the developer left on the surface of the developer carrier after the developer carrier passes a counter part to the electrostatic latent image carrier. The collection member has a plane smooth layer formed on the surface thereof, and a foamed elastic layer made from materials including a foamed elastic body formed inside the plane smooth layer. |
