PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating subject having chronic kidney disease.SOLUTION: A method includes a step of administering an effective amount of an organic ferric compound having at least about 2 mg/cm/min rate of dissolution to a subject. The organic ferric compound is produced according to a method including: (a) a step of obtaining a ferric salt; (b) a step of adding an alkali metal hydroxide to the ferric salt under a condition suitable to generate a mixture containing polyiron oxide; (c) a step of isolating precipitate from the mixture; (d) a step of adding an organic acid to the precipitate; (e) a step of heating the organic acid and the precipitate thereby forming an organic acid ferric solution; and (f) a step of precipitating the organic ferric compound from the organic acid ferric solution by an organic solvent. The organic acid is selected from the group consisting of citric acid, acetic acid, isocitric acid, succinic acid, fumaric acid and tartaric acid. |
