PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable lead acid battery in which stability of the method as COS, and battery characteristics are balanced.SOLUTION: In a lead acid battery, the pole plate lugs of same polarity in a pole plate group, consisting of a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate facing each other with a separator interposed therebetween, are aggregated using a strap by COS. When the total cross-sectional area of the pole plate lugs of a positive electrode plate is A, and the total cross-sectional area of the pole plate lugs of a negative electrode plate is B, A/B is 1.5-3.5. When the volume of a strap aggregating the pole plate lugs of a positive electrode plate is C, and the volume of a strap aggregating the pole plate lugs of a negative electrode plate is D, C/D is 1.2-2.0. |
