<p>The present invention relates to a method for producing high-purity manganese sulfate monohydrate (MnSO4·H2O) from low-purity manganese ore or manganese-containing dust, and high-purity manganese sulfate monohydrate produced thereby. The method according to the present invention comprises: adding sulfuric acid (H2SO4) and a reducing agent to manganese-containing dust to leach manganese; adding calcium hydroxide to the obtained manganese leachate to remove a first impurity; adding sulfide to the manganese leachate without the first impurity to remove a second impurity; performing pH adjustment using sodium hydroxide (NaOH) on the manganese leachate without the second impurity to precipitate manganese; adding the manganese oxide to sulfuric acid to re-dissolve the manganese oxide; and drying the re-dissolved manganese oxide to obtain high-purity manganese sulfate monohydrate (MnSO4·H2O). Thus, high-purity manganese sulfate monohydrate, which is usable as a material for secondary cells, can be produced from low-purity manganese ore or manganese-containing dust.
