PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of detecting abnormality of a rotation transmission member included in a rotation driving mechanism that rotates a rotating body.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus forms a toner image having uniform density in a direction of movement of an intermediate transfer belt, and transfers the image to the intermediate transfer belt to measure the density of the image. The image forming apparatus analyzes frequency components included in a change in density in the direction of movement of the intermediate transfer belt, and intensity of the frequency components for the measured density; and then determines whether or not a frequency component that exceeds predetermined standard intensity is included in the analyzed frequency components, and outputs a determination result. |
