An electronic device (mobile telephone) (1A) is equipped with: a piezoelectric element (7); a first sound generation unit (panel) which vibrates due to the piezoelectric element (7), and generates a vibration sound that is transmitted by causing part of a human body to vibrate; and a second sound generation unit (speaker) (11) which generates an air-conducted sound. For example, the mobile telephone (1A) outputs a call voice by means of a human-body transmission system if the sound pressure (magnitude) of sound generated in the vicinity of the mobile telephone (1A), such as the engine sound or tyre sound of an automobile, background music being played in the street, the sound of people talking, announcements in a train station, or the sound of train rails, becomes equal to or greater than a threshold value.
