The method involves providing a transparent testing template with auxiliary lines and/or forms, which match with an original of a document to be tested. A check is made whether all printings of the document are provided at a location by applying the template on the document to be tested. A transparent film, which is created for an original document, is applied on the document to be tested. A database with a local stored template collection is accessed by a scanner-like device. Deviations are detected in a region of the document to be tested. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a testing device (2) a transparent testing template.
