PURPOSE: An optical element and display device can effectively protect particles from penetration of oxygen and/or moisture, thereby having improved durability and reliability. CONSTITUTION: An optical element comprises: a host which comprises a polymer or copolymer containing a unit structure indicated in chemical formula 1; and a plurality of wave converting particles arranged in the host. In chemical formula 1, at least one of R1, R2, R3 and R4 is a chlorine group, a nitrile group, or a hydroxyl group. A functional group of R1, R2, R3 or R4 which is not selected from a chlorine group, a nitrile group, or a hydroxyl group is selected from hydrogen, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group, and a substituted or unsubstituted heteroaryl group, and n is 1-10,000. |
