The suction transport device (10) has circumferential suction devices (12,14) that are mounted transversely and horizontally adjustable along the sheet running direction (BL). The suction roll (22) is arranged between the suction devices. The suction devices are surrounded by endless tape (20). The suction devices and the suction roll are connected over suction line with low pressure device. An independent claim is included for method for extracting sheet from sheet stack.
