PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for a vehicle, that can prevent a shock from being produced and a fuel consumption from degrading at deceleration of the vehicle. SOLUTION: At the deceleration of the vehicle involving a fuel cut, when a lock-up clutch 26 is released, a starter motor 56 is rotatably driven so that an engine rotating speed Ne becomes lower than a turbine rotating speed Nt of a torque converter 14 by a predetermined rotating speed. Then, at the deceleration, the shock is prevented along with torque amplification by the torque converter 14 is prevented. Further, because a timing of starting a fuel injection to an engine 12 is delayed by a predetermined time period, the amount of fuel supply is decreased to improve the fuel consumption.
