PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid catalyst component for polymerization of olefins with which a polymer having a fewer amount of fine powder can be obtained while highly maintaining stereoregularity and yield of the polymer, to provide a method for producing the catalyst component, and to provide a catalyst. SOLUTION: The solid catalyst component for polymerization of olefins is obtained by allowing a magnesium compound (a), a tetravalent titanium halide compound (b) and an electron donating compound (c) except for ethers to be in contact with one another to form a solid product, then bringing an inert gas containing ether vapor into contact with the solid product, and further bringing the tetravalent titanium halide compound (b) into contact with the solid product after the contact with the ether vapor-containing inert gas. The method for producing the catalyst component is disclosed; and the catalyst for polymerization of olefins is formed from the above solid catalyst component, an organic aluminum compound and an organosilicon compound.
