The present invention relates to a special type of touchscreen, a tourist touchscreen with multiple functions. The tourist touchscreen enables a user, a typical tourist, to quickly and conveniently access important and up-to-date tourist related information, interact with it and carry out transactions. The standardised information system on all tourist touchscreens provides consistency which is easy to understand and use. The capability to print empowers the user to print brochures, tickets, bookings, reservations, correspondence, receipts, etc. from the comfort of his/her room. The tourist touchscreen replaces many of the functions and facilities traditionally found in tourist offices and tourist information sections of hotels, guest houses, apartment blocks, hostels, caravan sites and other accomodation facilities, and make the provision of information and transactions more convenient and accessible to the tourist.
