摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one's own vehicle position detection system capable of detecting a one's own vehicle position efficiently, while using a scenery image recognition technology.SOLUTION: This system includes: a reference database 92 for storing a reference data group correlated with a photographing position of a photographed image corresponding to image characteristic point data generated by extracting image characteristic points from a photographed image acquired by photographing a scenery from a vehicle; a road shape evaluation part for determining a road shape on an estimated one's own vehicle position from road shape information, and calculating a similar road shape range in which a road shape similar to the road shape continues; an extracted reference data determination part for determining reference data by using the similar road shape range, when extracting from the reference database 92, reference data as a matching partner of data for matching comprising the image characteristic points extracted from the actually photographed image; and a one's own vehicle position determination part for determining the own vehicle position based on the photographing position correlated with matched reference data.
