PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iodine-supporting polyimide and an antibacterial polyimide film having excellent processability and a controllable iodine content. SOLUTION: The iodine-supporting polyimide is provided by allowing a polyimide, which is obtained by reacting a tertiary amine compound represented by formula (1) or (2) with a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, to support iodine and/or an iodide ion.
