According to the present invention, an alignment layer in which orientation stability of the liquid crystal is excellent and voltage holding rate is high is obtained by irradiating linear polarization to polyamic acid with a specific structure and then performing heating imidization. The present invention provides a photo-alignment layer prepared by coating a substrate with a polyamic acid solution having an unsaturated bond containing group including a carbon-carbon double bond of one to three or a carbon-carbon triple bond of one to four on a main chain, evaporating a solvent from the formed layer, irradiating linear polarization to the layer in which the solvent is evaporated and then heating the layer in order to perform the imidization of polyamic acid. |
