Device and method for the severing of adhesive beads on vehicle windows

The device has a splitting unit (12) for splitting an adhesive bead and comprising windscreen cutting tools (16) e.g. cutting wire. A detection part (20) creates a signal, which is linked over the cutting tools. The detection part evaluates signals transmitted between the cutting tools and a car body (18). The detection part is formed for application of voltage between the cutting tools and the body. A sensor device evaluates the signals transmitted between the tools and the body. The detection part is formed for creation of an alternating voltage, which is evaluated by the sensor device. An independent claim is also included for a method for monitoring a cutting process when splitting adhesive beads at a vehicle pane of a body.
