PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electronic equipment which surely determines the type of a battery pack, and largely displays various displays such as a safety standard, a manufacturer, and a bar code for product discrimination in a region of an attaching part surface of the electronic equipment to which the battery pack is attached, and also to provide a battery pack attachable to the electronic equipment. SOLUTION: This is the electronic equipment 100 which is equipped with a retaining part 102 in order to retain the battery pack, and a detecting part 103 to detect the kind of the battery pack, in which a rib to be retained to the retaining part is installed in the battery pack, and in which the detecting part discriminates the type of the battery pack by detecting the existence of one part of the rib at the time of attaching the battery pack.
