<p>An elongate member 100 for aligning building elements 200 comprises markings corresponding to a dimension of the building elements, wherein the elongate member is elastic. A method of building comprising aligning a plurality of building elements in a row 200 using an elongate member comprising markings 102 is also described. The invention provides a means to accurately align bricks and ensure even distribution of bricks within a course, which leads to an improved appearance in the built structure. The elongate member 100 may comprise a polypropylene string 101 with line markings 102. Preferably, the length of the elongate member is increased by 3% by stretching under tension. Preferably the markings correspond to a dimension of a brick or block.</p> |
