[Class 3 (ii)] A road-surface sign comprises a cast metal grid a, Figs. 2, 3, the upper portions of some or all of the holes of which are filled with concrete or like material b to form the sign, the lower portions c of these holes being of dovetail shape so that when the grid is pressed into bitumen or like road material, such bitumen keys itself in the holes and holds the grid in position. A number of grids of the form shown in Fig. 4 and provided with reflectors d may be used to build-up a sign.</p> |
