A positioning block (100) and method for spacing riser bus bars (12) includes an insulating material body forming recesses (122) along a longitudinal axis of the block, each recess (112) for receiving an electric riser bus bar therein. A binding feature (106) is formed adjacent to at least one wall of the recesses for securing the riser bus bar within the recess. A locator fea-ture (110) is formed between the walls of each recess for aligning the riser bus bar within the recess.
