PURPOSE: A marker for diagnosing liver cancer caused by hepatitis C virus (HCV) and a diagnosis method are provided to accurately distinguish patients with chronic hepatitis C and patients with hepatocellular carcinoma by sequencing 14 sites among amino acid sequences of HCV and analyzing diversity thereof, thereby simply diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma. CONSTITUTION: A marker composition for diagnosing hepatocellular carcinoma caused by HCV contains one or more polypeptides selected among 20-100 continuous polypeptides with 282th, 283th, 285th, 287th, 288th, 290th, 291th, 292th, 293th, 331th, 332th, 338th, 339th, or 341th amino acid in an amino acid sequence of sequence number 1. A method for providing information for diagnosing liver cancer caused by HCV comprises the steps of: detecting HCV RNA from a test sample infected by HCV and sequencing the base sequence; converting the base sequence information acquired by sequencing into amino acid sequence information; and comparing the converted base sequence information corresponding to one or more amino acid sequences selected among 282th, 283th, 285th, 287th, 288th, 290th, 291th, 292th, 293th, 331th, 332th, 338th, 339th, and 341th amino acids in a reference amino acid sequence of HCV. |
