PURPOSE: A TV channel selecting apparatus and method are provided to select an available TV channel at a faster speed. CONSTITUTION: A pilot detection unit(233) measures a pilot frequency for a plurality of TV channels received from a TV channel antenna(220) and pilot power related to the pilot frequency. A channel selection unit(236) produces an inter modulation frequency based on the pilot frequency and the pilot power. Using the inter modulation frequency, the channel selection unit selects an available TV channel group of the TV channel. |
