Disclosed are a navigation terminal and a method for automatically controlling frequency modulation transmitter (FMT)-tuned frequencies. The navigation terminal providing an FMT function using the FMT-tuned frequencies according to one side of the present invention comprises: a GPS receiving part for getting the current position of a vehicle using GPS signals; and a control part which checks whether or not FM broadcasting at the current position uses a currently set FMT-tuned frequency among the FMT-tuned frequencies, and which changes the currently set FMT-tuned frequency to others if the FM broadcasting does not use the currently set FMT-tuned frequency.
