摘要 The present invention relates to a system and method for charging an electric vehicle. The system for charging the electric vehicle according to the embodiment of the present invention includes the electric vehicle which includes a battery and a charging station which includes at least one charger for charging the battery. The system for charging the electric vehicle includes: a detection unit which detects the SOC of the battery; a storage unit which stores information about the SOC of the battery which is detected by the detection unit; and a communication unit which transmits information about the consumption pattern of the battery which is calculated by a control unit to the charging station. The charging of the battery by the charger is performed in a general charging mode and a pattern charging mode to charge the battery with power which exceeds the consumption of the battery for a preset period in consideration of the consumption pattern of the battery by the selection of an owner or a driver of the electric vehicle. The shortage of the lifetime of the battery due to the unnecessary complete charging of the battery is prevented according to the embodiment of the system and method for charging the electric vehicle of the present invention.
