The present invention relates to bio activated carbon for an electric double layer capacitor and a manufacturing method thereof. The bio activated carbon according to the present invention includes a raw material including carbon (C) and a plurality of pores formed on the surface of atomized particles by heating distilled water. The pores are formed by active additional materials which are dipped into the surface or pore of each particle and provide activation effects. All bio-materials comprised of carbon (C), hydrogen (H), and oxygen (O) are used as a starting raw material. Active carbon particles effective as an electrode active material for an electric double layer capacitor active material through treatment process without additional impurities.
