[Class 37] A moving-coil meter in which both alternating and continuous current values are measured has its moving coil protected by a cut-out C, shunt - connected rectifier d, and a series resistance R, accidental application of alternating-current causing the current flow in one direction to increase and operate the cut-out c which may be of the kind described in Specification 464,867. The connections are such that if the cut-out is not instantaneous, the coil movement will swing in the positive direction. |
