PURPOSE: A positioning system using a light source and a sensor, and a method thereof are provided to present the position information which is optimized to a large indoor complex cultural space. CONSTITUTION: A data receiver (221) receives a light source which includes the position information from a light source device, and extracts the position information from the light source. A sensor unit (222) measures at least one among the acceleration, the angular speed, and the terrestrial magnetism information from a positioning device. A position estimating unit (226) estimates the current position by using the position information and the sensing information which is sensed by the sensor unit.
