PURPOSE: A device for polishing the surface of an optical rod is provided to relatively maintain the original shapes of polished polishing protrusions thereof, thereby efficiently polishing the surface of the optical rod despite using the same for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A device for polishing the surface of an optical rod comprises a base (10), a rail part (20), a slider (30), a pad part (40), a first driving unit (50), a second driving unit (60), and a control part (90). The pad part includes an elastic pad and a polishing pad. The elastic pad having an elastic force is attached to the upper side of the slider. The polishing pad adheres to the upper side of the elastic pad, and is in frictional contact with the surface of the optical rod as a target. The first driving unit allows the slider to reciprocate along the extended direction of the rail part. The second driving unit includes a driving motor (63) and a supporting part. The rotary shaft of the driving motor rotates a fixing chuck, and is placed in a direction perpendicular to the reciprocating direction of the slider. |
