PURPOSE: A gas treatment system and method are provided to be able to reduce the cost and time for a VOC reduction apparatus on a vessel for carrying liquid freight or a ground storage tank as gas components of liquid freight such as VOC are able to be reduced principally. CONSTITUTION: A gas treatment system comprises a first separator(110), a second separator(130), a third separator(150), a first pressurization part(170), and a second pressurization part(190). The first separator separates oil components, gas components and moisture components from the oil mixture at a first pressure. The second separator separates gas components from the oil components separated by the first separator at a second pressure. The third separator separates gas components from the oil components supplied from the second separator at a third pressure lower than the second pressure. The first pressurization part compresses the gas components separated by the second separator in order to reduce the pressure difference between gas components separated by the first separator and the second separator. The second pressurization part compresses the gas components separated by the third separator in order to reduce the pressure difference between gas components separated by the second separator and the third separator. The third pressure is the atmosphere pressure.
