Coating composition comprises (a) a mixture of at least one first silane compound and at least one second silane compound different from the first silane compound, (b) a catalyst, preferably an acid, (c) a first solvent or first solvent mixture, and (d) water. Independent claims are also included for: (1) preparing the coating composition, comprising (i) combining the first- and the second silane compounds with the first solvent or the first solvent mixture, (ii) mixing the combination obtained in step (i), (iii) adding the catalyst to the mixture obtained in step (ii), (iv) mixing the mixture obtained in step (iii), (v) adding water to the mixture obtained in step (iv), and (vi) mixing the mixture obtained in step (v), where the mixing is carried out for 30-90 minutes, preferably 60 minutes; and (2) a substrate which is glass, preferably float glass, roller glass or roll glass, or a ceramic material, comprising at least one surface coated with the above coating composition, where the coating composition is applied on the surface in a spin-coating-, spraying-, dipping-, dip coating-, roller coating-, coating- or knife coating process, and the substrate forms a surface provided as a transmission surface of a photovoltaic- or solar thermal module. |
