An initial channel setting method of an interactive broadcasting receiver using a server is provided to reduce unnecessary changes of an initial channel by transmitting a channel value having the highest viewing probability to a corresponding broadcasting receiver. An initial channel setting method of an interactive broadcasting receiver includes: storing user profile information transmitted from the interactive broadcasting receiver in a server(304); requesting an initial channel from the server by the interactive broadcasting receiver(300); judging an initial channel of the interactive broadcasting receiver based on the user profile information stored in the server(310); and transmitting the initial channel judged by the server to the interactive broadcasting receiver to set the initial channel(320). |
