PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an automatic transmission capable of favorably obtaining a start shift stage without any shock in the automatic transmission in which one-way clutch is eliminated, and the start shift stage is obtained by engaging a predetermined brake element with a predetermined clutch element.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an automatic transmission includes: a step of engaging a predetermined clutch element 10, in which the output rotation on an engine side is input to a transmission mechanism by being engaged, by supplying hydraulic pressure to the clutch element 10 when a command to achieve a start shift stage by engaging a predetermined brake element 70 with the clutch element 10 is detected; and a step of starting to engage the brake element 70 by supplying hydraulic pressure to the brake element 70 after the step and for controlling the rotation input to the transmission mechanism to a target rotational speed. |
