A medical image diagnostic device (100) according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with: a first imaging unit (10f); second imaging units (10a, 10e); a position identification unit (10b); and a movement controller (10c). The first imaging unit (10f) performs PET imaging using a first PET detector and a second PET detector which detect annihilation radiation emitted from a positron-emitting nuclide, and which are provided such that the mutual distance therebetween can be adjusted. The second imaging units (10a, 10e) perform imaging using an imaging method different from that of the first imaging unit. The position identification unit (10b) identifies the positions of the first PET detector and the second PET detector on the basis of a medical image imaged by one of the second imaging units (10a). The movement controller (10c) controls the movement of the first PET detector and the second PET detector in accordance with the identified positions. The first imaging unit (10f) and the other second imaging unit (10e) perform imaging after the first PET detector and the second PET detector have been moved.
