PURPOSE: A surface treatment method for a guide roll for manufacturing an optical film are provided to improve the plating efficiency and to ensure excellent uniformity, surface roughness, and mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: A surface treatment method for a guide roll for manufacturing an optical film comprises following steps: processing an aluminum guide roll(S110); activating the surface of the aluminum guide roll by nickel activation pre-processing liquid(S120); electroplating the guide roll with nickel plating liquid by horizontally arranging and rotating the guide roll to an electroplating tub(S130); and adding an fluoride additive by horizontally arranging and rotating the guide roll to an electroplating tub(S140).
