PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a mitochondrial disorder, adjusting one or more energy biomarkers, normalizing one or more energy biomarkers, or strengthening one or more energy biomarkers.SOLUTION: A useful compound is disclosed in the method. A useful method and compound for treatment of other diseases are disclosed. An energy biomarker useful for evaluation of a subject's metabolic state and the effect of the treatment is also disclosed. In addition to the method for adjusting, normalizing, or strengthening the energy biomarker, a compound useful in such a method is also disclosed.
