PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine in which the inside of a drain hose is washed to be clean for suppressing occurrence of mold growth and smell.SOLUTION: A washing and drying machine comprises: an outer tank 20 supported within a housing 1 and holding water therein; an inner tank provided within the outer tank 20 and having laundry 30 placed therein; a fan 41 for sending air into the inner tank in a drying operation; and a drain hose 8 for draining water from a bottom portion of the outer tank 20 to a drain hole 101 outside the machine, and the fan 41 sends air while draining water through the drain hose 8.
