PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmission system which can transmit high quality camera video, can be restored easily when a trouble occurs, and can continue to monitor the camera video.SOLUTION: A video transmission system in an embodiment comprises a video selector and a monitoring control device. The monitoring control device transmits an echo request periodically and determines whether or not an echo response is received within a designated time. When the echo response is found to have been received as a result of the determination, the monitoring control device sends out a first control signal to the video selector. When the first control signal is received, the video selector lets a first video signal for optical transmission use pass through and outputs it to a monitor device. When the echo response is found not to have been received as a result of the determination, the monitoring control device sends out a second control signal to the video selector. When the second control signal is received, the video selector lets a low picture quality video signal for radio transmission use pass through and outputs it to the monitor device. |
