PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching method and a control device from a start operation system to a purpose operation system of Otto cycle engine having gasoline direct injection and a valuable valve operation further reducing fuel consumption and emission.SOLUTION: A switching method and a control device from a start operation system to a purpose operation system of Otto cycle engine having gasoline direct injection and a valuable valve operation in which the start operation system and the purpose operation system are either one of an outside ignition operation system or a self ignition operation system includes a step of matching an operation parameter of the start operation system to a value necessary for the purpose operation system in a control process as a pre-control and a step of switching the operation system after the control process as the pre control, and a step of controlling the operation parameter after the shifting.
