PURPOSE: A multi-axial machining center in a vertical type having an automatic tool exchanging device in a rotary type and a method for exchanging a tool of the machining center are provided to exchange a plurality of tools at once and to shorten working hours relative to processed products by minimizing the movement of a column or a top column. CONSTITUTION: A multi-axial machining center in a vertical type having an automatic tool exchanging device in a rotary type comprises a tool magazine (20), a column (30), a top column (40), a spindle unit (50), a spindle (51), a motor (m), and a rail (r). The tool magazine, the column, the top column, and the spindle unit each include the motor and are mounted on the rail. The tool magazine, the column, the top column, and the spindle unit can be driven in a ball screw method. One or more spindles can be formed in the spindle unit. |
