PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance safety of a semiconductor device.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device (U1 to U6) comprises: a regulator unit which generates an internal power supply voltage (VDD) on the basis of a power supply voltage (VCC) supplied from the outside; an internal circuit (B4) which operates using the internal power supply voltage as a power supply; a current detection unit (B2) which monitors the power current supplied to the internal circuit; and a control unit (B3) which controls the operation of the internal circuit. When the current detection unit detects that the power current became a prescribed threshold value or higher, the semiconductor device limits the operation of the internal circuit by the control unit.
