PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor in which image deletion is suppressed and an increase in a residual potential is suppressed.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor comprises a conductive substrate 4, an undercoat layer 1 provided on the conductive substrate 4, a charge generation layer 2 provided on the undercoat layer 1, a charge transport layer 3 provided on the charge generation layer 2, and a protective layer 5 provided on the charge transport layer and having a volume resistivity of 2×10&OHgr; m or more and 4×10&OHgr; m or less. The electrophotographic photoreceptor satisfies an expression (1):0.4 eV≤(Efuc-Eauc)-(Efcg-Eacg)≤0.6 eV. In expression (1), Efuc represents a work function of the undercoat layer; Eauc represents an electron affinity of the undercoat layer; Efcg represents a work function of the charge generation layer; and Eacg represents an electron affinity of the charge generation layer. |
