PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of automatically setting appropriate fixing conditions for various sheets used by a user in a comparatively simple constitution.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a fixation roller which contacts with a toner image formed on a recording medium; a pressure roller which is provided counter to the fixation roller, and is constituted to vary the width of a fixation nip part formed by contacting with the fixation roller; and a fixation device which performs fixation by applying heat and pressure on the toner image formed on the recording medium at the nip part. The image forming apparatus includes: heating means 100 for applying heat at a prescribed temperature on one surface of the recording medium; and temperature detection means 102 for detecting the heat from the heating means 100 via the recording medium. |
