PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a service indication label attached to an irregular position.SOLUTION: A merchandise code reader comprises: image capturing means for capturing a merchandise image photographed by image photographing means; code detecting means for detecting a code symbol included in the image captured by the image capturing means; label detecting means for detecting an indication label included in the image captured by the image capturing means; determining means for determining whether relative positional relation between detected positions of the code symbol and the indication label in the image coincides with predetermined positional relation or not; and transmitting means for transmitting code information included in the code symbol detected by the code detecting means and label information corresponding to the indication label detected by the label detecting means to an external device when the determining means determines that the relative positional relation coincides with the predetermined positional relation. |
