The present invention is a composition suitable for use as an antioxidant for polyolefin resins, said composition having a structure corresponding to the formula: wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are selected from a hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, or a branched alkyl group having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, or a cyclic alkyl group with 1 to 24 carbon atoms; wherein said composition has a peak decomposition temperature of less than 280° C. and a total decomposition energy which is endothermic or if exothermic, releases no more energy; than 40 kJoules/mole.
