摘要 <p>Provided are a method and device which measure the absolute values of spectral intensity and spectral phase of an optical pulse having an arbitrary duration. An optical pulse intensity and phase measurement device comprises: a nonlinear mixing means for nonlinearly mixing a reference optical pulse having an electrical field (Er(t-tau)) which is delayed with an optical delay means with an optical pulse to be measured having an electrical field (E0(t)) and creating a signal optical pulse represented by the following formula (where * is an operator which represents a general nonlinear mixing, and alpha is a coefficient which is proportional to a nonlinear susceptibility in this nonlinear mixing): Er(t-tau)+alphaEr(t-tau)*E0(t); and an imaging spectrum device which spectrally splits the signal optical pulse and outputs a Fourier transform signal which is represented with the following formula (where F is a symbol which represents the Fourier transform, * represents a complex conjugate, and R is a symbol which represents the real part): |F[Er(t-tau)]|2+|alphaF[Er(t-tau)*E0(t)]|2 + 2R{alphaF[Er(t-tau)]}*・F[Er(t-tau) *E0(t)]}. The intensity and phase of the optical pulse to be measured are derived from a second term signal (frequency resolved optical gate signal) of the Fourier transform signal and a third term signal (electro-optic sampling signal) of the Fourier transform signal.</p>
