PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an available power information transmission method and apparatus for reducing the frequency of transmission of available power information of a terminal in a mobile communication system; and to provide a method and apparatus for more efficiently using uplink transmission resources by reducing the frequency of transmission of available power information of a terminal in a mobile communication system.SOLUTION: In a method for transmitting information about available power of a terminal in a mobile communication system, information about available power is generated and transmitted if a change in available power is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value and a total amount of data stored in a buffer of the terminal is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value.
