PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt device which can release the constraint of an occupant caused by a webbing at proper timing even if a communication failure occurs in an in-vehicle communication system.SOLUTION: In a seat belt ECU 21, there are arranged an emergency state determination part 55 for receiving information via an in-vehicle communication system 53, a communication failure detection part 57 for detecting a communication failure of the in-vehicle communication system 53, and a control part 56 for controlling a motor 10 to execute the winding of a webbing 5 and position holding according to an emergency state. There is arranged a direct-line vehicle state detection means such as a brake switch 15 for directly sending a detection signal to the control part 56 not via the in-vehicle communication system 53. When the failure is detected by the communication failure detection part 57 after the pull-in of the webbing 5 and the position holding are executed at emergency, the motor 10 is controlled by using the direct-line vehicle state detection means. |
