PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion liquid of a polymer forming a coating film excellent in mud crack resistance, water resistance and blocking resistance.SOLUTION: An aqueous coating material using a dispersion liquid containing a polymer containing 0.5-1.9 mass% of a structural unit derived from a carboxyl group-containing monomer and having a surface acid value of ≥3.5 mgKOH/g is used. In a method for producing a dispersion liquid of a polymer obtained by multistage emulsion polymerization of a monomer mixture (A), the dispersion liquid of the polymer is produced in such a manner that the monomer mixture (A) contains 0.5-1.9 mass% of a carboxyl group-containing monomer, a monomer mixture (an) polymerized in the final stage accounts for 0.5-30 mass% of the monomer mixture (A), and the carboxyl group-containing monomer contained in the monomer mixture (an) accounts for ≥25 mass% of the carboxyl group-containing monomer contained in the monomer mixture (A). |
